Official Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for planning, designing, and developing community-based learning systems, user rating/feedback systems, and reusable learning content assembly systems.  Working on a team with Learning Technologists, Web Developers, and Database Administrators, you will performs analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation of complex ColdFusion and Flex applications to support learning and development initiatives.

 

You will work as part of a project team and may lead a defined section of a project. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing sub-project plans, functional specifications, related documentation, and schedules.  
  • Performing design and coding tasks on very complex ColdFusion and Flex programs and applications.
  • Providing significant technical direction on major development projects.
  • Conceiving, proposing, and selling new ideas and products to support business needs, and guide the implementation of these ideas and products within an application.
  • Developing, testing, proofing, and maintaining Web content that is creative and consistent with WellPoint design standards.
  • Collaborating with the learning function leadership group, clients, and content owners on requirements, design, scheduling and publication.
  • Maintaining customer-focused Web site navigation structure (intuitive user interface).
  • Publishing content from development following established change control processes.
  • Previewing platforms to production platforms.
  • Performing configuration management, optimization, and rollbacks.
  • Monitoring learning Web site services to ensure 7 x 24 availability of content and functionality.
  • Monitoring and enforcing security rules and infrastructure, preserving the security of the Web site and related applications.
  • Developing and organizing content that supports consistent and accurate reporting.
  • Designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementation of software code for components of the learning Web sites.
  • Working with graphic designers and other members of a project team to develop the site concept, interface design and architecture of the Web site.
  • Responsible for user acceptance testing, interface implementation, and system communication.
  • Staying current with new Web technologies and techniques. 

You must have strong navigation and site design instincts, as well as working knowledge of Internet / Web tools, protocols and programming languages.

 

Two or more of the following:

 

  • Experience in designing and development, troubleshooting and debugging, and implementing software code  (e.g., ASP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion) for components of a Web site
  • Proficient in ColdFusion 8 development
    • User Interfaces
    • Business Logic and CFCs
    • Experience using ColdSpring framework
  • Experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming
  • Experience in AJAX development
  • Experience in Flex 3 development and Cairngorm framework

 

 

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Leadership experience as a key member of a team developing large enterprise object oriented applications.
